Honda CRX DEL SOL SIR

Well this is my favourite of my two cars, however it is off the road at the moment for me to get it up to a good condition again,
here what it is and a list of spec:
1993 K REG CRX DEL SOL SIR, B16A with TCS and ABS
Transtop roof
BBS Rims, (16")
Lowered on springs at the moment.
Kakimoto exhaust system
Mugen gear knob and Momo steering wheel
has a set of skirts and a fibre glass front bumper
The color is NH503P Granada Black Pearl

A bit of history maybe?
Honda started researching into vtec based ideas in 1985 by looking into fuel economy and different ways to get power however as years went on the goal became 100hp per litre, which at the time when 70-80hp per litre was high this was crazy, and Honda still wanted to give a 15year or 250000 mile quality promise.
they set a target for the Integra of the time to reach 160bhp at 8000rpm and would not stop till it was arrived at!
it started with the argument that at that rpm the engine stresses would be around 40% higher so the forces inside would be too high so the weight of all components would have to be reduced
they achieved the lightening by changing things shapes to increase strength and allowing material to be removed, they also increased the intake port sizes and used race engine technologies to knock up the power more still, achieving the 160bhp at 7600rpm and a 8000rpm redline.
new forging techniques increased camshaft rigidity up to 40%
the valves were made more heat proof and 20% lighter.

the work that went into the vtec is amazing and still makes me love Hondas, as we talk about at work if you won the lottery what cars would you buy my list always starts
  • Get the Sol Finished
  • NSX In Black
  • Accord Type R (2000) Pirates Black
  • S2000
  • GTO 3.0V6 Twin Turbo (manual)
  • FTO
  • Ariel Atom
  • Sol converted to RWD
The list does go on but i think there's a general feeling of Jap love there!
